When I set up my account our institution domain name ended with .org. It recently changed to .edu. How do I make that change to my account?

    Hi @Sharon McCollins

Basically, you can follow the steps below to change the domain name of the user accounts:

    1. Make sure you are the global admin, add the new domain name which is ended with .edu via Microsoft 365 admin center and follow the steps to verify that you own the domain.
      User's image
    2. Bulk select all users and then untick the checkbox in front of your own account (Because the Change domains option cannot be used against the account you used to sign in the M365 admin center.)
      User's image
    3. Click Change domains, choose the new domain name and press Save changes:

    4. Select your own account, manually edit the username and email address accordingly to use the new domain:

Reference: Change your Microsoft 365 email address to use your custom domain.

You'll also need to ensure that the DNS records like MX record are also updated to use the new domain name.
