Why is my “Show apps in Outlook”-menubar white?

I use the Outlook client with its new design and “Show apps in Outlook” option for quite some time now and I really like it.
However, for a while now the left hand side menu bar turned white!

while maybe an odd design choice, I believe this to be a glitch in the stylesheet, as on my two other machines and also on the machines of my colleagues the menu bar is still grey.
So my question is:
Is it intentionally white or is it a bug?
And if it is a bug, how can I fix it... as re-installing outlook didn't do the trick?

    I believe this may just be the new layout of Microsoft or something they are working on, I would advise to keep an eye on it for now and if its not changed then play around with settings again. Have you also tried the new Outlook?

    @SokiGuo-MSFT

    thank you very much!

    Repair Office from the Control Panel did not help, but the Uninstall Office Tool mentioned on page
