Connection Authenticator app and SharePoint

Karsten Riegler 0 Reputation points

My customer uses SharePoint.

When I log in, I get a number for the Authenticator app.

I then received a message from the app on my iPhone asking me for the number. Perfect!

Now I have a new iPhone and the Authenticator app no longer responds to the SharePoint request.

I have reinstalled the app but nothing is happening.

Thank you very much for any help.

    Hi @Karsten Riegler,

You'll need the Microsoft 365 admins in your organization to reset the account so a new QR code can be generated with which you can relink the authentication device to your account on your new iPhone.

The steps to perform with your admin help,

    1. Go to Azure portal >> Microsoft Entra ID >> Users >> Click "Display name" of the issue account.

    User's image

    1. Click "MFA status".

    User's image

    1. Delete the Microsoft Authenticator method on your previous device and Click "OK". User's image
    2. You will be asked to relink the account to Microsoft Authenticator next time you sign-in. User's image

Hope my answer helps. Feel free to comment if you still have any questions.

    Have a good day:)
