Azure bandwidth costs

Hi,

We are being billed x amount of bandwidth for two VMs. Drilling into the cost analysis, this does appear to be egress charges as all VMs are within the same region and on the same VNET.

I have configured network watcher with the log analytics, i can't use the VNET flow as it's not available in my region. The network watcher does give us some information but it's not as structured as I would like. When using Netflow we would get a dashboard telling us x amount of data between these IPs on x port. Is there a way of doing this within Azure network watcher? I am just trying to figure out what these egress charges relate too. Thanks.

    @MrChris

    Thank you for reaching out.

    I could not find a Network watcher feature for your specific requirement above (apart from the preview feature Vnet Flow logs which you have already mentioned). NSG flow logs is very similar feature which capture IP traffic. NSG flow logs are written to storage accounts. You can export, process, analyze, and visualize NSG flow logs by using tools like Network Watcher traffic analytics, Splunk, Grafana, and Stealthwatch.

    Another approach you can try here is to create a Billing Support ticket for this issue. Billing related support is provided to all Azure customers for free. You can follow the documentation here to create a Billing support request (Just replace issue type to Billing).

    Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you!
