PC is connecting to several multicast DNS IP addresses

My PC has continuous connections to multicast IPs:

The mdns.mcast.net translates to 224.0.0.251

I expect an intermittent connection to a multicast IP but not a constant connection to 2 of them. Can anyone tell me if this is this normal behaviour?

Your PC having continuous connections to multicast IPs is not an unusual occurrence.

The IP address 224.0.0.251 is a mDNS address that is used to send DNS queries to a group of hosts on a network. The mDNS protocol is used to resolve hostnames to IP addresses within small networks that do not include a local name server.

It is a normal behavior and is not a cause for concern.
