I am trying to add a user to the "Act as part of the operating system" policy on windows Server 2016, however when I try to search for users in the "Enter the object names to select" field, I am presented with a login prompt from windows Security, telling me to enter the credentials for an account with permissions to the Domain. When I enter the credentialls of an account thats part of the Domain Admins, I get en error telling me that the credentials are not correct.

This server is part of a Domain but not the Domain Controller.

Every other login prompt I try for this user suceeds. I tried loggin in as a normal user and started the Local Security Policies as Admin, after entering the exact same credentials into the presented prompt it let me through, but once I edit the Policie itself, it fails

    Hello Connor,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Did you add a user to the "Act as part of the operating system" policy on windows Server 2016 via Domain GPO or local group policy?

If you add via domain GPO, you can sign in DC using domain Administrator account and set it.

If you add via local group policy in windows server 2016, you can sign in this windows server 2016 using local administrator account and set it.

If you have any question or concern, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,
    Daisy Zhou
