Hello,

We use Azure OpenAI API for our cross-platform product which is available in various countries across the globe, including China.

Given the recent change in the Chinese AI law [http://www.cac.gov.cn/2022-12/11/c_1672221949354811.htm] (in particular, Article 19 and 20 thereof), we wanted to learn more about your Azure OpenAI service in China.

Are there any updates about the availability of this service for apps that may be distributed in mainland China? Do you plan to undergo the security assessment required by the deep synthesis laws, and should the developers wait until Azure OpenAI is on the white list of deep synthesis AIs in mainland China?

Thanks in advance. This answer is important for us since our app has been declined on other platform due to the fact that we use AI in China, and we need to respond to them, whether Azure OpenAI API is compliant with Chinese laws or not.

Olena
