Teams open links to Office app in the desktop app - ALWAYS

When I click on a link to a file in Teams, I need it to open in the associated desktop app by default (word, excel, etc.)

I only get these options:

But I cannot make "desktop app" the default.

In settings, I can't choose the app.

Not sure how to tell the specific version/build of Teams - using Microsoft 365

    Are you using Teams Classic or new Teams client?
