Normally, when you deploy or install third-party Anti-Malware product, it should disable Microsoft Defender. If not, check with the Anti-Malware vendor's support and make sure you are using the version which is compatible with Windows 11 and they might also have workaround for this. Meanwhile, I advise you to report this issue as a bug in the Feedback Hub app.
Windows 11 22H2 and Defender Tamper Protection with 3rd Party Antivirus
Hello,
Newer versions of Windows 11 are coming with tamper protection. It appears when you install a 3rd party antivirus, that Windows should then turn THIS and the rest of defender off. This was the case in Windows 10 and older versions of 11. This isn't the case now. We have our 3rd party antivirus running and defender shows that, BUT tamper protection is still enabled in Defender and parts of it are still enabled as well. It keeps trying to download new definitions and platform updates daily even with our 3rd party antivirus installed. How do we fix this without removing our 3rd party antivirus on all machines and then disabling tamper protection and re-enabling the 3rd party antivirus? Seems like there should be a platform update that can help with this if it detects a 3rd party AV, it allows the user to disable tamper on defender. This is very annoying.
