My background will not show on multiple desktops. The default jpg logo it shows makes it very difficult to see and manage desktops.

Background also doesn't show up in the personalization section of settings. The same problems happen with every image I attempt to use.

    Hi Dodge,

Welcome to the Windows Q&A community. From your description, it sounds like there might be some issue with UI settings. Kindly try the following methods to fix from application level to the system level.

    Repair the App settings

Step 1:  Choose "Repair" in the screen that opens. click the "App Settings" option

Step 2:  Choose "Repair" in the screen that opens.

Restart File Explorer via Task Manager

Step 1: Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys on your keyboard to open Task Manager in Windows 11.

Step 2: Click on More details and go to the Processes tab.

Step 3: Locate Windows Explorer, right-click on this entry and choose Restart. Check if your issue is fixed. If not, try another troubleshooting tip.

Change Settings in Ease of Access

According to users, changing particular settings in the Ease of Access can be helpful if Windows 11 displays a black wallpaper. Here is what to do:

Step 1: Type control panel in the search box and click the result to open this app.

Step 2: View all the items by Large icons and click Ease of Access Center.

Step 3: Under the Explore all settings section, choose Make the computer easier to see.

Step 4: Go to Make things on the screen easier to see and untick the option of Remove background images (where available).

    Update Graphics Card Driver

Due to an outdated driver, Windows 11 black wallpaper bug may appear and you can try to update the GPU driver.

Step 1: Go to Device Manager via the Win + X menu.

Step 2: Expand Display adapters, right-click your video card driver and choose Update driver.

Step 3: Click the first option to let Windows automatically search for an available driver.

Specifically, you can go to the Event Viewer to see if there is any error with Faulting Module, and then update the corresponding one.

    Best Regards,

    Ian Xue
