Visual Studio Community Edition For Commercial Use

Hello,

I am planning on writing a script to facilitate some tasks at work, and I need to use Visual Studio to build a library using a .sln file. That is the only thing that I will be using Visual Studio for as I can do the coding in VSCode, which is free for commercial use.

I will be distributing this script to some colleagues but will not be charging them, nor will I sell the script to anyone else. My company is classified as an enterprise by definition.

In this case, am I allowed to use Visual Studio Community to build the library for the script? If not, since I am the only one using VS in the entire office, is purchasing a month of Visual Studio Professional sufficient?

Thanks for the help in advanced!

    Hi @William Wang,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

In this situation, I suppose you can’t use the Visual Studio Community for commercial use.
