My C/drive is full and I need to free up space. Can I move apps and other software to my D/drive. If yes, will the online connectivity for necessary updates and access to such items as Youtube still maintain.

    Hello

Yes, you can move apps and other software from your C drive to your D drive to free up space. Here are two methods you can use:

Method 1: Move apps from C to D drive from Control Panel

    Click “Start” and choose “Settings”.

In the pop-up window, click “Apps” and click “App & feature”. Then, you can see a list of installed programs on your computer.

Right-click the program that you want to move and choose “Move”. Note: If there’s no “Move” button, you’re unable to move the app.

Method 2: Transfer apps from C drive to D drive via a safe app mover If the app that you want to transfer to another drive has no Move Option, you can resort to a reliable & powerful application mover for Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7 – AOMEI Partition Assistant Professional.

Please note that some programs work only when they are installed on the root drive (C drive) of the hard drive. Do not move them to another drive.

As for online connectivity and updates, moving apps from one drive to another should not affect their ability to connect to the internet or receive updates. The apps will still be able to connect to the internet and receive updates as long as your device is connected to the internet. However, it’s important to note that not all apps support being moved to another drive. If you’re unsure, it’s best to check with the app’s developer or the software’s manufacturer.
