We are currently facing an issue with Microsoft Graph API patch calls used to update users in Azure Active Directory, specifically encountering the error message: "Unable to update the specified properties for objects that have originated within an external service." while trying to update only this value "showInAddressList".
The error is encountered for one tenant and it is working fine for another.
Can anyone please help us on this?

2023-11-30T12:56:38.92+00:00 Were they synced at one time? Was syncing disabled correctly?
If not, then I would open a ticket with Azure support because the error indicates the attributes are read-only in Azure.
Another thing, can you update these with Exchange Powershell instead of Graph?

we have the same problem with accounts that are only in the cloud. The attribute cannot be set via powershell. Is there any news on the topic?
