How can I change app Package Identity Name from the Partner Centre?

Hello,

Whenever I create a new app on the Partner Centre, the Package/Identity/Name will contain a name that I have not used in years. I have looked everywhere on this site to change it but I cannot find out how.

If you open the product > Product Management > Product Identity it's in there.

I've even tried deleting the app and remaking it, but the name still persists. Is there some hidden part of my account that this is saved in?

I'm sorry to say no, this is not able to be changed. The part you marked is the original name that you used when registering the developer account. It won't change even if you change your name.

However, when I make the app package in Visual Studio, I can always change the app name there before deployment? And nobody else will see it will they?

Yes, this is not changeable in the Dev center but you could change in the manifest. But if you change it in the project manifest, that might lead to a submission issue when you upload your package to the store.

And nobody else will see it will they?

Yes, no user will see the Package Identity Name. The users will only see the display name for the app.

That's great, thanks for your help. I don't think it's worth getting a new account to get the correct name if nobody else will see it.
