User reports attempting to open local folder in Documents and receiving "An internal error occurred."
Should note that user does have a Remote Desktop Connection open. However the user is attempting to open a local folder. This has been plaguing us for awhile through numerous Windows updates. Any help would be appreciated. 36149-an-internal-error-has-occurred.png

    I'd suggest replacing the profile. If you logon with an account with administrative rights, then after saving off docs, etc. from corrupt/abandoned user profile use Control Panel|Users and Passwords and delete the old profile stores. Then when you next logon a new profile is created from an image in \default user then you can copy your saved data back to new profile.

    @matukai
    Hi,

    In some cases, the error can appear due to the Security of the Remote Desktop Protocol in which case you will have to change the security layer.
    Make sure that you are using an administrator account, you may refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    Might try re-building the user profile as we are running out of ideas. Have already tried everything in the Appauls article before posting this thread with no luck. Here is a screenshot from the Event Viewer of File Explorer crashing.

    Created another user profile and transferred files over. So far so good, thanks!
