Azure Open AI playground cannot add datasource

Question

Azure Open AI playground cannot add datasource

I followed the step in the Azure OpenAI studio chat playground to add a data-source, it was working before but when I use another AI Search service of S1 tier, it starts failing to add data as shown in below images.

Please advise how to fix this problem

I have had the same issue over the past few days. Seems intermittent, as I am sometimes able to run the wizard to generate indexes and the exact error type/severity varies. No idea what the cause is, but just trying again later sometimes works.

You may be getting an error for one of the following reasons.

Please verify if you have Storage Blob Data Contributor and Reader roles. It seems like the you have enough permissions to generate a SAS token for the storage account. You need to choose another storage account or contact the storage account admin to grant them permission to perform the following action: Microsoft.Storage/storageAccounts/listAccountSas/action

Allow Azure services on the trusted services list to access this storage account.

Are you are trying to setup index refresh ? Please check if your storage account does have soft delete enabled (which is required in order to be able to track deletions). In order to be able to proceed with refresh, you need to follow the steps mentioned in this article: Enable soft delete for blobs - Azure Storage | Microsoft Learn

Please capture browser trace as directed in the documentation - Capture browser trace to see any error while setting up your data in Azure Open AI Playground it case above steps doesn't resolve your issue.

I am pretty sure it is not the issue with the storage, as I was using the same storage with another AI Search and it was working fine. Everything went wrong until I made a new AI Search with higher tier (original working was basic tier, found out the limit was not enough for my usage, so I opened a new AI Search with tier Standard). For the new AI Search service it does not work, but I deleted the old (working) AI Search Service already
