I have an Azure pay as you go subscription, but i am not able to access cost analysis.

It says "You do not have Cost Management access to this resource group"

How to get access this access ?

Hi Suyog

Cost Management and Billing uses Azure RBAC for access control.I guess you don't have these roles, make sure that your account has the necessary RBAC role assignment to view cost information.

The required role is "Cost Management Reader" role. This role allows you to access Cost Management data. Contact the admin or manager to get the roles

Hello Azar,

This is my personal azure subscription.

In access control i can see i have service administrator role and has full access.

Can you please tell me how i can enable this access on my subscription.

Hi,

As a temporary workaround, please navigate to your subscription -- Cost Analysis blade and switch the Scope to your billing account. You do this by clicking Scope at top, clicking on your billing account on right, then clicking Select this billing account, similar to screenshots below:

After you have switched the Scope you may click View -- Resource groups at top, next click Resource groups, then once the list of groups is displayed you may use the filter box to only display the one group you are interested in.

Hello,

I have an Azure pay as you go subscription. this is my personal azure.

In scope i can see subscription name only.

I have role as a service administrator and have full access.

I am not able to use cost analysis, Key vault etc.

Please help

@Suyog Are you accessing Cost Analysis from your Subscription or the resource group? After clicking Scope, can you click on the arrow icon to the left of the subscription to go up a level, and then check if billing account shows up there?

I have checked after clicking on the arrow icon only resource group is present.

@Suyog If you navigate to link below do you see any billing account scopes?

https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_GTM/ModernBillingMenuBlade/~/AllBillingScopes

If yes, please click on it, next open Access control (IAM) blade, and see if your account is listed as Owner. I tested with a different account and was unable to use the workaround I gave you above until I assigned reader role to the account, signed out, signed back in, and then was able to select the billing account scope (and see cost data).

Additionally, please create a new support request in the portal. Hopefully the more people that report this issue the faster it will be fixed.

NO, it doesn't work. As an owner and I have full access, I am not able to use cost analysis too. It is there bugs or something happened?

The cost analysis access denied issue was caused due to a recent deployment problem. The incident has been mitigated by reverting the deployment and then the issue was resolved. Let us know if you still see any issue with regards to it.
