Azure server to remote IBM Db2 Database

Hello - we are having an issue running queries from the azure servers to our ibm db2 database. We do not have any issues with a physical older box even further away halfway across the country going through a vpn in accessing this database and pulling queries. We can load 280 tables in under two hours, however with Azure we can get maybe 4 tables in that amount of time even with good size disks/increased memory. It is not a driver issue, it is not a server disk/memory issue. We have done all comparisons but stuck in trying to figure this out.

First of all, what sort of Azure servers are you talking about? Virtual Machines? Something else? If they are Azure VMs, what models are they? This is extremely important, since in the cloud you get what you pay for, but not more. That is, if you try to get more, you will be throttled.

SQL Server(which is why I saw the question), but it is not clear where SQL Server comes into the equation.You say that "from the azure servers to our ibm db2 database"? Does this mean that you are loading data from Azure into DB2? Or does data flow in a different direction?
There are probably more questions I should ask, but even if I did not them, you can answer them anyway. The more details you provide, the more likely that someone can help you.

2023-12-02T22:53:18.13+00:00 Hello - let me clarify. The virtual machine is in Azure ~ windows datacenter 2022. The SQL database is on the same server along with the application that has to query an IBM DB2 database at a remote location to import large amounts of data. The ibm db2 database sits on its own box. The data must flow from remote location that has ibm db2 database. The azure box queries it and pulls in that data. The issue is only in Azure the querying is so slow that a normal query - even using winsql takes 9 minutes to query that data. If I use a non Azure box sitting halfway across the country - same situation, i query the ibm db2 and i can get the result in 30 seconds. This box is older and windows 2012. Everything i am reading points to some issue with network adapters with azure and hyper v. querying is slow in any box that is in azure. We have more bandwidth in azure than we do half way across the country. same ipsec tunnels as well. So it led us to what is wrong with the network adapters in azure that takes forever to load simple queries for databases at a remote location? hope that helps...

2023-12-19T19:43:58.9466667+00:00 No throttling issues - it's something to do with chimney settings or queries using the server instead of network adapter or the network adapter itself. just not sure as can't figure out what it is yet.
