Pass parameter from main report to sub report in multivalued parameter and changed it after execution

I want to pass selected multi valued parameter values from main report to sub report and do get result based on main report parameter passed.

Next case Sub report also have same multi valued parameter passed from main report so i do want to change my multi valued parameter on sub report any of available value so that i can do get another result based on selection on multi valued parameter on sub report.

Is there any way to discuss over call or team meeting if above of my description is not clear.

Let me know if this is possible ?

I did a simple test. The multi-valued parameter "Name" is set in both the main report and the subreport. Then set the pass parameters in the subreport properties added in the main report.

Hi @salauddin ahmed

Do you mean that the main report does not need parameter control, but the subreport only needs to be controlled by the parameters set in the main report?

Then based on the previous answer, just delete the set parameter statement in the main report data set query.

Thanks for quick reply but this answer did not give my answer of my question. i am explaining question in your example.

Main report have multi valued parameter selected product (1,A),(2,B) out of dataset values ((1,A),(2,B),(3,C),(4,D),(5,E)) and passing these selected values to subreport multivalued parameter product and get result then again subreport multivalued product is bind with data set contain values (1,A),(2,B),(3,C),(4,D),(5,E) so i want to select any values available in subreport multivalued parameter for example while landing on subreport i have selected (1,A),(2,B) in main report and got the result but again i want to select (1,A),(5,E) on subreport and get result accroding to selected value in subreport product parameter

i don't want to go back on main report and change selected value for product parameter to get result based on parameter.

You certainly don't have to go back to the main report to change the product parameter values to get the results.

A subreport is an independent report, you have added multi-valued parameters in the subreport, you can of course directly access the subreport and select the parameters to get the results.

Thanks for your quick reply but it still not giving my answer

Please do read below.

Step1- i do select some parameter on main report then get result on sub report with selected parameter on main report.

Step 2- so i navigated on subreport from main report and got the result with selected parameter on main report but again i am on subreport after navigation from main reprot and it is also bind with same parameter product so i want to select other available prodcut on multi dropdown instead of one i have selected on main report.

Main reprot->subreport :on sub report select another product apart from main report selection

I'm a little confused. Did you add a drillthrough report or a subreport? A drillthrough report is a report that users open by clicking a link in another paginated report. A subreport is a report item that displays other reports in the body of the main paginated report.

From what you said about navigating from the main report to the subreport, it seems that what you are adding is a drillthrough report.

I did a simple test. Added a text box on the design page, then in the text box properties, click "Action->go to report", and then add the path and parameters.

I have selected the parameters "A, B", and then clicked on the text box, it will jump to another report and show the results of the parameters "A, B".

Then change the parameters to "C, D" and it will run as well.

yes i am doing drill through report so i do select some value on one report then going to other report with selected parameter then again i want to select parameter on drill through report

in your example A,B was selected and moved to other report so on other report i want to be able to select c,d parameter
