SharePoint Online - Custom List Classic Experience

Hi,

I'm new to SharePoint Online and I'm hoping someone can help me.

I've recently created a number of custom lists on a SP Online site, which I have then set to the 'classic experience' via 'List Settings > Advanced Settings'.

I now need to display these lists on site pages in the classic view. However, when I apply them to pages (via web parts) they display in the modern view. This is despite the fact that they have been converted to the classic experience and appear as such in the back of the site.

How can I get the classic view of custom lists to appear on pages?

Thanks

    Hi @Matt-9236

As trevor said, on the modern page, list web parts will always display the list in the modern view. Here are two options for you:

    1. Create a classic page (wiki page) to display custom lists.
    2. Use the embed web part.

The list would be displayed like this on modern pages:

Using the Lists webpart on a modern page will always show the content in a modern format regardless of the setting on the list. You could use the Embed webpart which shouldn't alter the look/feel, though it won't look pretty on the page.
