Hi all,

We are planning for Azure resource repatriation from North Europe to Qatar Central region, and our current infrastructure has a VPN connection from On-premise to Azure North Europe region.

I want to know the possible ways by which we can execute this.

As of now i have some queries.

  1. Do we need to create a new subscription in qatar central region.
  2. Is it possible to first migrate all the resources to Qatar central region using Azure Resource mover and then can we create a new vpn connection to the qatar central region.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @zohaib sarwar Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!

I understand your requirement to move resources from North Europe to Qatar Central.

Please find the answers to your questions below:

    1. Do we need to create a new subscription in qatar central region.
Not a hard requirement (you can move within the same subscription). If you want to migrate to a new subscription then you might need to create/use existing subscription, subscription is not region specific.
    2. Is it possible to first migrate all the resources to Qatar central region using Azure Resource mover and then can we create a new vpn connection to the qatar central region.
Yes, I think first moving resources using Azure resource mover, that will create a new Vnet in the target region (Qatar central) and then configure the vnet to connect to the on-premise VPN and if you already have a vnet in Qatar central you can even use the same vnet

Hope this answers your question. Let us know if you have any further questions in this matter!
