How to estimate the cost of Azure CosmosDB?

Our team uses CosmosDB as a real-time database to store live data, and our business may have tens of thousands of data updates to the historical data in CosmosDB every minute, with each data item being approximately 1KB. This could result in the need to update over a billion data items each day, which will inevitably lead to very high costs. We have made a simple estimate of the cost, and the result is staggering. We are not sure if our calculation method is correct.

Could you help us with a rough cost estimate? Or could you recommend a more cost-effective solution within Microsoft Cloud to store this real-time data? We are looking forward to your reply!

You know, Azure does not have a clear explanation for RU, so it is difficult for us to estimate the RU generated per second. And is RU an instantaneous value or an average value?

I estimated a very high cost due to the data volume in our project, which is not acceptable to us.

Therefore, I would like to ask if my calculation method is wrong, and if you can help estimate the cost or provide a better solution.
