Hi @Bejugam Nagraj
1 Do you mean Excel application cannot be opened correctly?
If yes, please go to File > Account > Product Information, check the version number.
Then locate to %Appdata%\Microsoft\Excel
, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\XLStart
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\XLStart in case of 64-bit Windows system), remove the .xlsb files. (Please note, you may back them up first before removing.)
2 Or do you mean users cannot open .xlsb files?
If yes, does this issue occur with other Excel file formats, such as ".xlsx"?
I suggest you back up one .xlsb file first, then change the file extension and try to open it.
You may start Excel in Safe Mode, find and open one .xlsb file for a check.
- To run Excel in Safe Mode, please press Win + R to open Run dialog,
- Enter
excel /safe
, click "OK".
How do users access the .xlsb file?
It's recommended to move one .xlsb file to other location, please make sure users have enough permission on that folder.
Is there any third-party encryption software to encrypt the .xlsb file?
If so, please unencrypt it for a try.
Besides, please quit the security software if there is.
