I can't select text to label fields in Document Intelligence? I can't click on anything.

Hi

I have uploaded PDF documents, and created the fields. I am now trying to click on the text in the document to label/associate to the fields. However nothing happens, it is basically a read only document and I can't seem to click or select anything.

Any ideas on what I am missing please?

I understand that you are unable to select text in the document to label/associate to the fields. If you want to label specific fields in the PDF documents, you may need to use a Custom extraction model. I recommend you look into the documentation and their videos.

Thanks for your additional information.

Custom neural models currently only support key-value pairs and selection marks and structured fields (tables), future releases include support for signatures.

The Custom neural models are available in the v3.0 and later models.

Thanks. Would a key-value pair not be what is being created here? I am possibly missing an important concept. I have been using the document and video that you linked to. I have gone through and created fields, and am now trying to associate the field to the position on the document. Is that not the key-value?

Hi @Ryan Darby,

With the latest version 3.1—2023-07-31(GA) API, custom neural models only require one sample labeled document to train a model. Once you have labelled the data, the custom neural model will use the labeled document to extract the data from the PDF document.
