Outlook desktop Calendar not letting me edit - creating duplicate event

I have a customer that is reporting this issue with Outlook desktop (Windows 11).

Meeting comes in, double clicks calendar item to edit (changes title, changes color and changes reminder time) - clicks accept and nothing happens. Typically the meeting pop-up would disappear and the changes would be reflected on the calendar directly but this doesn't happen.

If I simply click save - Outlook duplicates the meeting. If I click Save again another duplicate. If I click close it asks to save - I click yes and it says it can't. If I close w/o saving, then attempt to modify one of the copies that works fine. I can't delete original meeting either. I have to close outlook, reopen outlook then I can delete the original meeting request.

I've made sure outlook is updated and have also done a quick repair but no change (this issue started 2 weeks ago) and otherwise outlook is behaving as it should. I checked with the meeting organizer and she sends 30 meetings a day to dozens of people - no other reported issues and she hasn't changed her method of creating meetings. She sent me a test meeting and it was fine for me.

Other than an online repair is there something I'm missing here?

Thanks

Mike

    Hi @Mike Martinelli ,

    Thanks for your reply!

As i know, we can't change the details for meetings or events other people have invited you to. Based on my test, when i click Accept and choose Send the Response Now/Do Not Send a Response of a received meeting, the meeting will be closed. If it is not your case, please provide more steps about your test.
