I have a new installation of Outlook 2021 under Windows 11. I have successfully exported my iphone contacts and created a csv file but it cannot be imported into Outlook - the last step in the procedure "Finish" cannot be activate and I am refered to the previous step - no flagged errors.

I then discovered that under contacts I could choose Icloud/contacts. This gave me accesd to my contacts but they were not visible in my Adressbook. How can I achieve this? Through Explorer I note that the contacts folder is empty!

How did you convert .vcf to .csv format?

To import contacts in a vCard file to Outlook on a PC, you need to convert them from a .vcf file format to a .csv file format. This involves importing them to Windows, and then exporting them to the CSV file. If you have more than 50 or so contacts, this is a tedious process because you have to press OK for each contact you want to import to the csv file. Unfortunately, there's no way to do a global OK and import all of them to the csv file at the same time.

In answer to your question, I have tried two methods:

There is an online app which converts the vcf file to a csv file: https://labs.brotherli.ch/vcfconvert/

There is an iphone app, Contacts Sync, which does a direct sync with Google (no intermediate vcf file required). From my gmail app I could then export a csv file.

Neither of these methods produced csv files which would import into Outlook. I have around 860 contacts to import and doing it one by one is not an option.

I tried another approach:

Using the Contacts Sync on my iPhone I performed a sync between iCloud and Outlook.

On my PC I openned Outlook on the Webb and exported the contacts to a csv file.

I then openned Outlook 2021 and imported the csv fil. This allowed the import procedure to complete but for each contact the screen showed, "Name not available". (my translation from Swedish)

According to my search, there is no official document that provides the corresponding steps to support bulk import from vCard files in Outlook.

To import contacts from an Excel spreadsheet into Outlook, follow the steps provided in this article (contact fields may require some manual mapping): Import contacts from an Excel spreadsheet to Outlook - Microsoft Support.
