Office Scripts freezes Excel online in Edge, M365 GCC tenant

I have been using the Office Scripts on Excel Online; everything has been working as expected until 12-11-23. The Automate tab is still available, but when I select any item on the ribbon menu, Excel stops responding; there is no error message, and MS Edge continues to function properly (Edge is not frozen). I am using Edge for Business v120.0.2210.61 64-bit (our system automatically updates Edge), and my company's tenant is M365 GCC.

I originally asked this question MS Community Forums: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/office-scripts-freezes-excel-online-in-edge-m365/8f7f2148-76e5-46b9-84cd-d9123805e689?rtAction=1702480398719 but was recommended to ask it here.

How can I get Office Scripts functioning again?

I found a link to this troubleshooting page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/excel-not-responding-hangs-freezes-or-stops-working-37e7d3c9-9e84-40bf-a805-4ca6853a1ff4, but I can't find a way to open Excel Online in safe mode (or if that's even possible).

I don't know if it may be related to this issue that several others have been having for a while: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/708149/office-script-stuck. Or might it be because Microsoft is still working on this? (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=139765) The roadmap still shows this being in development and it hasn't been updated since August, but at least a few people have had access to it: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/883173/microsoft-office-scripts-setting-not-available.

Yesterday and today my organization had several major updates (including system, BIOS, and other firmware updates); now I am able to access the Office Scripts as usual. (I don't know what part exactly may have resolved the issue; it's likely that a small update broke Office Scripts temporarily, and these updates repaired it.)
