Hi,

I'm using Hyper-V, and I have 3 clusters composed of 15 to 20 Hyper-V hosts per cluster.

For each VM, I have a dedicated volume on PureStorage array technology. All my Hyper-V hosts are running Windows 2022 (November Update). When I try to load the settings page of a VM (right-click on the VM in the list and then select 'Settings...'), the window opens and shows 'loading in progress' on the left. This can take between 10 to 50 minutes!!! This problem is on all VM. This happens both via the Hyper-V Manager and via the Cluster...

There are no errors in the Windows event viewer. If I run PowerShell commands like Get-VM or if I want to obtain the storage or network details of a VM, it's almost instantaneous...

I'm not sure since when this issue has been occurring, but we upgraded all our Hyper-V hosts to Server 2022 and installed PureStorage over an entire weekend. Since these modifications, we've been experiencing this problem. However, the VMs themselves are running fine with no issues in that regard.

Seems to be an OS/ROLE/FEATURE bug as settings for VM's in Windows Admin Center come up within 10 seconds.

Not resolved. No problème in configuration network, configuration... windows has the last update, sentinelone is disable for vhdx... no error in logs :(

I just built a Server2022 HV cluster and having the same issue. One common thing i have with Benjamin is that we both have SentinelONE. I have seen SentinelONE and CiscoAMP recently and Kaspersky in the recent past still cause all kinds of issues even when service is disabled. Guess im removing SentinelONE completly from the server and see if it still happens.

Actually removing the SentinelONE agent and restarting the server did not seem to make any difference... back to square one

I had already tried disabling/uninstalling SentinelOne but to no effect.

On my new 2022 Cluster, I had no issues at the beginning, and now it seems that I have the problem. So, it comes from the number of disks in the Cluster Shared Volume; when there starts to be too many, it cause the bug

In my environment anyway, the slow load of the VM properties was tracked down to the HBA adapter that connects to our DAS. When I had the 2 HBA adapters disabled the VM properties loaded instantly every time. Enabled HBA and loading the properties screen had the delay again. I dont remember that being the case on my old servers which also had HBA and Server2012 instead of 2022. Strange thing still is that it slow for VM properties even for VM that do not use the HBA or even have a disk of any kind attached to the VM..

PS.. Just saw Benjamin's updated post and indeed i have a few cluster disks listed for the delay to show its self.

I reinstalled the Hyper-V and All the services in MSConfig.

High network latency can cause delays in loading the settings page. 2. Check PureStorage Configuration: Confirm that the PureStorage array configuration is correct and that there are no issues with the storage connectivity. 3. Update Hyper-V Integration Services Make sure that the Hyper-V Integration Services are up-to-date on the virtual machines. Integration Services help improve communication between the host and guest operating systems. 4. Networking isn't an issue, and AV is just Defender. I've shut it down and it didn' t make a difference! We upgraded 3 x Hyper-V Failover clusters and are getting the same results on every cluster. I'm running Failover Cluster manager and Hyper-V Manager on the host itself. But it takes anywhere between 3.5-5min to load the Settings for the VM on Both!

Yeah same on my three cluster :(
-I have try to disable AV
-All of my server is in January Update
-Purestorage is in recommended configuration
-Same on VM configuration 8 or 10
-Nothing in windows event logs

I'm wondering if it's because Hyper-V has 214 volumes attached from PureStorage.I know there's no real limit to the number of volumes on Windows, but could it be calling each volume when launching the properties of a VM? As indicated, PowerShell responds immediately.

I am having the same issue, cluster is running great, no events, just latency when accessing the settings of a vm, note...Configuration versions is 10, which what I see is the latest. Has anyone found a solution?
