Since the last Windows 11 update my taskbar has been unusable. It seems that if freezes and I am not able to access any of the icons. I have to double click the task bar then it disappears to only reappear seconds later and working for a few minutes before the taskbar freezes again. I assume i will need to reseat the computer back before the last update but hopefully there is a fix out there as I can't believe I am the only person having this issue.

Hello Thomas Samuelson
I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with the taskbar after the Windows 11 update. While this problem might not be uncommon, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try before considering rolling back the update. Here’s what you can do:
1.Restart Windows Explorer: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager. Locate “Windows Explorer” in the processes list, right-click on it and select “Restart”.
2.Check for Updates: Microsoft regularly releases updates to fix bugs. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your computer.
3.Use PowerShell: Type “PowerShell” into the search bar, right click on it, and run it as an administrator. Then, paste this command and press Enter:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “
(_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
This command will re-register the taskbar.
4.Create a new user account: Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC. Follow the prompts to create a new account. Once created, switch to the new account and see if the issue persists.
5.Use System File Checker tool: Open Command Prompt as an administrator. Type sfc /scannow and hit Enter. This will scan for corrupted system files and attempt to fix them.
6.Update your graphics drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause issues with the taskbar.

Hania Lian
If possible open the Command prompt or Windows Terminal as administrator and then type the following command:
sfc /scannow
Press enter and let it runs and see if that solve the problem.
