Sharepoint Online - Possible to move page from Parent site to subsite?

Hi, I'm interested in moving some pages on my main SharePoint site to a subsite in the same site collection. Is that possible or should I just move the contents into a new documents page inside the subsite itself and call it good?

Thank you for posting in this community.

We regret that it is difficult for us to copy pages from the parent site to the subsite.

The reason for this difficulty is that the content of the parent site is separate from the content of the subsite.

For example, an image that you uploaded to a page on the parent site is stored in the parent site's Site Asset library, and the child site's Site Assets library does not store that image.

Some web parts of the page are also saved by the parent site. And for the sake of file security, the child site cannot directly access or share the content of the parent site (in case some users who can only access the child site can see the content of the parent site).

If you really need to copy pages from the parent site to the subsite, then I am afraid you will need to copy all the content involved in the parent site's pages to the child site first before the child site creates the same pages.

It is possible to move pages from a parent site to a subsite in SharePoint Online ¹. You can use the Site Manager in Classic View to move/copy pages from one site to another ¹. Here are the steps to move a subsite to another site:

1. Select the parent site of the subsite you want to move in the left navigation pane.
2. Check the box next to the subsite you want to move in the right pane.
3. Click Actions drop-down and click Move.
4. Select Destination of the subsite selected in the next dialog.

However, if you want to move the contents into a new documents page inside the subsite itself, you can do that as well ¹. You can create a new document page in the subsite and then copy the contents of the pages from the main SharePoint site to the new document page ¹.
