Hi, I have a problem with my Windows 10 Lenovo G510. The problem is that every time I use my Bootable USB stick to reinstall my system it says "Check cable connection!". It's not a hard drive problem. I don't know what type of problem this is. I need to reinstall Windows because I'm stuck in a recovery loop, I keep going into recovery mode, but when I press "Exit and continue to Windows 10" It takes me back to recovery mode. I have tried everything so that's why I need to reinstall Windows and when I reinstall Windows via USB it takes me to a black screen saying "Check cable connection! Exiting PVE-ROM". Please help, thank you. And just so you know the other PC I have is a Chromebook And I don't know how to do the diskpart command on a Chromebook

    Hi @Yazan Hamamy

    It seems hardware issue.

Try to check the BIOS configuration and select UEFI mode if it's not the case.

Try also to check the boot order.

If you still have the issue may be you should contact your vender

    Hello Yazan Hamamy

The message “Check cable connection!” usually refers to a problem with your computer’s ability to communicate with the hard drive or boot device. Here are a few things you could try:

1.Check your BIOS boot order: Restart your PC and access your BIOS settings (usually by pressing F2, F12, DEL, or ESC during startup, depending on your PC). Once there, check the boot order and make sure the USB drive is set as the first boot device. Save and exit BIOS, then try booting from the USB again.

2.Check USB Stick and Port: Ensure that your USB stick is properly connected to the PC and that the port is functioning correctly. Try using a different USB port or a different USB stick, if available.

3.Recreate bootable USB: If you have access to another Windows PC (as it seems you only have a Chromebook), you could try recreating the bootable USB stick. However, you can still make a bootable USB on a Chromebook by using Chromebook Recovery Utility. Here’s how:

Install and open the Chromebook Recovery Utility from the Chrome Web Store.

Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner and select ‘Use local image’.

Locate and select your Windows .ISO file and follow the prompts to create the bootable USB.

Check your hard drive: Even though you mentioned it’s not a hard drive problem, it might be worth checking if your system recognizes the hard drive in BIOS. If it doesn’t appear, it might be a cable connection problem or the drive itself might be faulty.

4.Check for hardware issues: The message “Exiting PVE-ROM” indicates that the system tried to boot via network (PXE Boot) and failed. This usually happens when it doesn’t find any other bootable device. This could suggest a possible hardware issue.

    Best Regards,
