How can I obtain Metrics for Posts on a Microsoft Teams Channel by a Specific User?

I am the administrator of a Microsoft Teams and I post messages for thousands of users included in the Team and Channel.

Are there analytics that can identify if my folks received the post, read the post, etc.?

When I look at the actual Post, I don't see any indicator or item I can click on that would tell me if it's read like when I send a Chat.

Hi @Stony Brook KG

Channel messages are visible to everyone who has access to the team, and you can’t see who has read them or not. If you want to send a message to a specific person or a group of people, you can use a chat instead of a channel. Chats are private and allow you to see read receipts. To see who’s read your message in a group chat, you can select More options > Read by on that message. Everyone with a read receipt confirmation appears in the list.

Otherwise, if you want to view analytics for a specific channel, you may refer to the article.

The analytics tab just tells me how many users are in the 'Team', The tab does not give detail of analytics by 'Channel' and only shows minor details such as a graph of Active Users.

When I post to a channel in the Team of 5274 users, I have locked it down not to permit responses or reactions, because it's an organizational informational message. I do see that out of 5274 Users, on the days I post, that active users climb for the day to 100. Therefore, I don't know if that means that 100 people read the post or were just active on Teams, and I don't know if the activity being measured refers to another channel within the team.

I see a graph that says 264 Active Users and 5010 Inactive users, but I don't know if it means that 264 have read a post now or in the past, or if only 264 actually are on Teams when it posted. So, I would like to know what this could refer to.

My goal is to find analytics on specific posts so I can measure what was read. Would like the analytics to be specific by 'Channel'.

Furthermore, when I look at the actual 'post', I don't see any indicator or item I can click on that would tell me if it's read similar to what I experience with 'Chat' messages.

I am hoping I am missing something. I do appreciate the information.

I know you want to see who has viewed the view channel posts. But based on our research, there is no built-in feature in Teams that allows you to see who has read your posts in a channel. This feature is only available for Teams chat.

Meanwhile, To get this feature more quickly, we recommend you give the feedback in Teams UserVoice. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. With requirements like this increase, the problem may well be released in the future. Thanks for your understanding and patience!
