Issue with Capture Time Information Changing When Uploading Photos to OneDrive

When I upload photos to OneDrive, the capture time information within the photo files disappears, and the upload time is recorded as the capture time, causing the files to be sorted incorrectly.

So, the order of the photos is completely messed up.

When I check the EXIF information on my local PC, the capture time is clearly recorded accurately:

Local PC - EXIF parsing
KEY: 306
VALUE: 2024:12:16 10:23:08

I don't understand why this information disappears and gets replaced with the upload time when you upload it to OneDrive.

    Hi @HASE

This is by design. When you upload/download a file from OneDrive online, OneDrive on mobile phone, it will be treated as a new one.

    Thanks for your understanding.

It's recommended to use OneDrive client on Windows, you may copy images and paste them to local OneDrive folder. By this action, OneDrive client preserves the original date of creation.

For your requests, there are some similar threads on Microsoft Feedback Forum. Here are 2 of therm, and you may vote them up.

The shooting time of the uploaded image does not match the shooting time of the original image in the album

Add the function of uploading photos according to the original directory structure
