After the last update on Windows 11, the USB port stopped working. Message is "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported a problem - Code 43." "Unknow USB device descriptor request failed. I tried the following

  • uninstalled and installed device (several times)
  • Under the device power management, deselect the computer to shut off the device
  • deselected Fast start up
  • Couldn't implement the power change to the USB port because the USB doesn't appear in the list.

It seems you've already tried several troubleshooting steps. To further address the issue:

    1. Update Drivers: Ensure your USB drivers are up to date. Visit the device manager, right-click on the USB device with the issue, and choose "Update driver."
    2. Rollback Driver: If the issue started after a driver update, consider rolling back the driver to a previous version.
    3. System Restore: If the problem persists and you recently installed an update, you might want to perform a system restore to revert your system to a point before the update.
    4. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure your Windows 11 is fully updated, as newer updates may include fixes for device-related issues.
    5. BIOS/UEFI Update: Check if there's an update for your system's BIOS/UEFI from the manufacturer's website.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it might be worth reaching out to Microsoft support or your device manufacturer for further assistance.

    Hello,

Check the update history, if December 12, 2023—KB5033375 has been installed. If not, please install it to check.

If the issue happened after installing KB5033375, firstly, try to update USB Driver adn chipest driver. The issue might be due to outdated or incompatible USB driver and chipest. Go to Device Manager, right-click on the problematic USB device, and select “Update driver”. Choose “Search automatically for drivers” and let Windows search your computer and the Internet for the latest driver software. Or download the drivers from vendor website to install.

Meanwhile, perform a clean boot to check. Some third-party service may cause the issue.

If the above steps could not work, try to uninstall this update to check.

    Best Regards
