Enabling coauthoring in Sharepoint

How to enable coauthering feature in sharepoint online and in client machine office professional 2016 installed...

The feature "co-authoring" that allows users to see each other in the document, users are able to edit the same paragraph and it autosaves without clicking save is only available in the office 365.

Per my knowledge, "co-authoring" cannot be configured in the office 2016.

I suggest you use office online or office 365 client application.
