I've setup a test VMware environment and I'm trying to get site recovery working as a prof of concept. I have the OVA deployed and i can see my two window's vm's and check the box next to them to enable replication. However on the first sync i'm getting these two errors. Is there a silver bullet fix that I'm unaware of because I'm a NOOB, or is there a place i can find deeper log/error detail to guide me in fixing this? I've included an image of the programs installed on the replication appliance, if that helps....User's image

it ended up working by disabling the firewall on the VM's i was trying to backup (I'm sure there is a list of ports or something i could have opened or something, but this was just a proof of concept). Also and equally important I ran windows updates a few times on the client VM's as well as the ARS appliance. I was using fresh builds of server 2022 and as was the ARS appliance, and they needed to be fully patched before i started having success replicating.

@Matt Vorwald Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

I understand that you are performing a test to enable replication for your VMware VMs and the initial sync isn't happening.

First thing, please ensure there are no firewall or proxy rules that is blocking. If this is not the case, you can download the mobility agent from the new appliance and install in the VM by following the steps provided in the following document https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-mobility-service-overview#install-the-mobility-service-using-ui-modernized post installation register the VMs and then enable replication.

    Hope this helps!
