Hi, i am getting below error on OnVue

Video streaming connection results and requirements:

Your home/office network failed to connect to the required video streaming service.

The streaming connection requires that Wowza.com can be reached as well as a stable connection of at least 1mb upload and download speeds.

How to connect to our video streaming service:

  • Contact your network administrators and ensure the following:
    • Any network filtering software is disabled
      • WebRTC WebSocket connections must be allowed to ..cloud.wowza.com on TCP port 80, 443, 1935.

How can I fix this please?

If anyone else stumbles across this thread, it's the access code from PearsonVUE that causes this error. When you run a network test the access code authenticates, but then it will expire and give you a new code. The problem being that PearsonVUE gives you no information about this and you end up on a wild goose chase trying to figure out how to allow TCP access.

Just go back to the registration email and follow the steps again. You'll see a new code when you go through the system test and then the network test will pass. Honestly, the amount of forums and Reddit threads that come up when you google the error is astounding. PearsonVUE is absolutely hopeless with their support and documentation, and so many people have missed their exam because of this issue too.

I saw this error happens when you're using yesterday's code. Turns out all you have to do is go back and click the Run System Test button again, it gives you a new code, I also redownloaded the file for good measure, ran just fine. Good luck!

If possible, try connecting to the Pearson Vue system check from a different device on your network. This will help determine if the issue is specific to your device or your network.

Update your network adapter drivers to the latest version.

Temporarily disable any firewalls or security software: These might be blocking the connection to Wowza.com. Remember to re-enable them after troubleshooting.

    Hi,

You may manually disable Windows Firewall and uninstall 3rd party protection software temporarily and check the result. Or re-start system in clean boot to determine whether a background program is interfering with your network.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows:

Besides, we can use Telnet command line tool or Test-NetConnection PowerShell tool to check network connection about “cloud.wowza.com on TCP port 80, 443, 1935”.

    telnet:

I did not want to disable my firewall so I found that I had to go to my Windows Defender Firewall in my settings, select advanced settings, go to inbound rules, find OnVue and select properties. In the ports tab, I changed the protocol type to UDP. I also selected the allow an app or feature through Windows Defender from the home screen, found OnVue and checked the box for private. Both these options have allowed me to get past this error each and every time going forward. Hope this helps someone. Thanks.
