Why has microsoft minesweeper stopped loading as of 1/1/2024?

Minesweeper will not load properly. I just get the screen with the rotating flag.
I have Repaired, reset and uninstalled/reinstalled several times and it makes no difference.
It is just not going anywhere.
Computer has all available updates installed and there are no issues identified after running various troubleshooting tools.
Any idea how I can fix it?
