I can’t add email to phone as Microsoft Authenticator asks for code which I can’t get as it won’t let me add account to Authenticator without a code.

Hi,

I recently bought a new iPhone.

I am trying to re-enter my password on Mail settings, but this prompts me to use Microsoft Authenticator. The problem is, nothing appears on Authenticator.

I am then trying to add my work account to Authenticator but keep getting sent in a loop which asks me to either:

  • Verify using Authenticator app, which I can’t as it’s not setup or has dissapeared.
  • Verify by entering a code, which again asks me to use the Authenticator app.

It seems I’m in an endless loop of trying to authenticate and can’t get anywhere. a

Any solutions or help would be appreciated.

This worked on my old phone before getting a new one.

    In the absence of a backup for restoration, the sole recourse is to utilize the account recovery methods provided by each service provider. The Microsoft Authenticator functions solely as a code generator.
