I just got a new phone and cannot access the authenticator app, when I try to log in on the app it requires an authentication code that I cannot access.

Hello,

I just got a new phone and have been attempting to log back into my accounts. However, one of my account uses the authenticator app and will not let me log into anything, even the app itself! What is the best solution to this? There is no alternative log-in method that doesn't use the authenticator app that I cannot access. I also do not have access to my old phone now.

Thank you

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I hope this video can help you:

In the absence of a backup for restoration, the sole recourse is to utilize the account recovery methods provided by each service provider. The Microsoft Authenticator functions solely as a code generator.

This won't help now, but you should have registered an alternate authentication method.

Your only option now is to go to the account(s) administrator, and have them reset your access (resend QR code, enable sms, etc).
