Can not create IoT Hub with error RequestDisallowedByPolicy, Allowed Resource Types

Question

I added a new billing profile with my card.
Then I added a subscription with this billing information.
Next up, I need to create an IoT Hub. In the creation page, I select my subscription, and press "Create New" on the resource groups and create a resource group.
I chose the Norway East region but get the same error with other regions as well.
I chose the Free plan but get the same error with other plans as well.

I left Networking, Management, Add-ons and Tags as default.

I also asked a colleague to try the same, and they can create an IoT hub with their account and the same basic settings. (subscription is individual)

Welcome to Microsoft QnA !

It seems that you have Azure Policy in Place that prevents the creation of IOT Hubs on your Subscription

To fix that contact the Administrator to open the ablity, by removing the Deny Policy

If you are the Administrator please find the Azure Policy menu and seach for the assignments that are active on your Subscription

You will find the setting .

Hi @Hellesvik, Sigurd as @Konstantinos Passadis suggested, there is a Policy applied to your subscription that is preventing you from creating the IoT Hub resource. Looking at the image you have attached to the case, there is a Allowed resource types policy applied to your subscription which is preventing you from creating the resource.

Please make sure to navigate to your subscription and open Policies tab found under the Settings section of your subscription. You should be able to see Allowed resource types policy under the available policies. Please refer the below image for reference.

You can click on the policy and View/Edit assignment to include IoT Hub under the parameters section of the assignment to resolve this issue. Please refer the below image.

Alternatively, you can delete this assignment from subscription by clicking on the three dots at the end of the policy name and choose Delete assignment.
