Hey Community

Yesterday afternoon I had noticed something strange. My internet connection wasn’t working on any of my browsers (chrome / edge) and was just giving me an error “Your Internet Access Is Blocked”. This was strange because I used it just a few hours prior to that and my wifi was working fine. I’ve tried multiple fixes but no success. I restarted my router and my internet connection is working fine on all my other devices. The internet is not working on any applications and I can access my default gateway or even ping it in CMD… It just comes up with error “General Failure”.

Ive tried:

-Resetting network settings on Windows 11

-Disabling IPv6 protocols and the same with IPv4

-Changing Subnet Mask and DNS Server

  • Enabling WLAN in services

-Flushing all network related entities in CMD

  • Forgetting all network connections

-Rolling Back Drivers on my wifi network adapter

-Uninstalling latest security updates

-Completely turning off Windows Firewall (I have no other antivirus on my laptop) and checking for any blocked connections.

-Installing latest Network and Bluetooth Drivers for my Dell laptop.

Some important info:

Laptop: Dell Vostro 5581

OS: Windows 11

Im hoping I can get some help here as I do a lot of work on my laptop and without an active network connection I can’t do much work. Many thanks

    Hello

"General Failure" is an error message when you ping the gateway, right?

Set IPv4 to automatically get addresses, and then try to see if you can ping other devices successfully.

Is there a problem with the wired connection

    Best Regards,

    Wesley Li
