is there an easy way, to monitor brocade SAN-switches with SNMP in SCOM?

goal: we would like to monitor the IP-management-interface of the SAN-switch and port-status of the SAN-interfaces. optional: hardware like power-supply, fan, temperature etc.

i'm able to run the network discovery but in relation to the support matrix of network-devices in SCOM (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=51219) SAN-switches don't seem supported.

used SCOM-version: SCOM2019

SAN-switch to monitor: Brocade SN6500B, 48 Ports

    Hi Sandro,

If you have support from the vendor, ask them to provide you the SCOM management pack for it. Then you can just import it and use it.

Here is a link to the MP documentation: https://systemcenter.wiki/ContentLibrary/Brocade%20SAN%20Management%20Pack/brocade-microsoft-pack-ds.pdf

Otherwise I believe you would need to author your own SCOM MP using SNMP, if you know the OIDs/have the MIB. Here is an old tool that still works and can help you:

Here is also a guide to get you started: https://cloudbunnies.wordpress.com/2018/07/30/opsmgr-snmp-management-pack-generator/

    Good luck!
