Linux machines unable to utilize windows DNS

ENVIRONMENT

DNS Server = Windows 2012 (Active Directory not installed)
DNS clients = Centos 7.8 (DNS Server is mentioned under /etc/resolv.conf)
IP address is defined manually

QUERY
unable to ping from DNS name of a delegation

    Thank you for posting in Q&A!

    In regards to your issue, please check the following information:

    1. If the Linux client fail to ping DNS server with host name, can it ping with IP address or FQDN?

    2.Can the DNS server ping the Linux client? Since most of the unpingable issue is related to firewall blocking ICMP packets, please try after close the firewall on both sides temporarily.

    3.Are the Linux client and DNS server in the same subnet or connect with router? If they're connected by router, can the client ping the router and gateway? Please check the route with command "tracepath (ip DNS server )" from Linux. And the result will show which Link has the problem.
