Virtual Cam broken for Teams Version 1.3.00.28778 Mac. codesign --remove-signature does not work ...

After updating my MS Teams.App on my 10.15.7 Mac, there is no way to virtual cam showing up under preferences ... I did the "codesign --remove-signature" procedure and it wont help.

Anyone out there with the same problem?

Noticed it too – also through a recent Teams update (desktop app). All virtual cameras are gone... even though apps like Zoom/Chrome still allow them.

Skype as well – no more virtual cameras allowed.

Not great, seeing that some of us use Teams while teaching, and rely on using tools like OBS to switch cameras in class.

It is disappointing that the codesign routine doesn't seem to work anymore.

Have you tried resetting XCode CLT? I tried it to no avail:

Do you mean your Teams client cannot recognize the external cermara device?

I found a forum provide a detailed solution about it. The version is the same as yours. You can try to follow its suggestions to see if it works for you.

I can confirm this works too – looks like codesigning needs to be removed across all of the Teams helper applications now. Thanks @JimmyYang-MSFT

I have also tried this ...
first updated XCode, then deleted the teams-cache, then disabled code sign for teams.app ... unfortunately all without success. Still without virtual cameras in teams.app ...

@Schrader, Erik I also had this issue in previous updates and the "usual" fix of removing the signature did not work this time, however, I found MS have added a few more apps and running the complete list below resolved the issue for me - good luck!

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper.app"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (GPU).app"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Plugin).app"

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Renderer).app"

I guess you could also run these commands as a single command:

sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app"; sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper.app"; sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (GPU).app"; sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Plugin).app"; sudo codesign --remove-signature "/Applications/Microsoft Teams.app/Contents/Frameworks/Microsoft Teams Helper (Renderer).app"

Just to make it simpler and quicker.
