Why is Microsoft allowing Riot Vanguard to run on Windows?
Dear Microsoft,
Riot Games has decided to make it mandatory for players to have RIOT VANGUARD installed onto their systems if they want to play the game League of Legends. This Anticheat-Program is a kernel level software that is required to launch before even the operating system is launching and is always active on the computer. This is an extreme risk to the security of the affected systems, as a data breach could leak alot of data not related to the game. It is not possible to launch this programm on other operating systems such as Linux or MAC OS. So why is it that Microsoft allows the use of such Programms on their operating system. This is clearly a massive infringement in privacy and a risk for not only the people playing the game but Microsoft as well.
It would seem reasonable to me to not allow this to continue.
Best regards,
Puchegger
