Dear Azure Support,

I am interested in utilizing the GPT-4 model in the East Japan region with Azure OpenAI. After creating an instance of Azure OpenAI in the East Japan region, I noticed that the GPT-4 model is not listed, although the gpt-3.5-turbo model is available. Conversely, when I created an instance in the US-East region, I found the GPT-4 model to be available there.

The documentation I referred to (https://learn.microsoft.com/ja-jp/azure/ai-services/openai/concepts/models) mentions that models are accessible in a region based on the current access rights of the subscription. Could you please clarify what specific settings or applications are required to access the GPT-4 model in the East Japan region?

I am looking forward to your guidance on this matter.

Best regards,

    Fujita, Akira

As mentioned in the GPT-4 and GPT-4 Turbo Preview model availability page, GPT 4 is Available to subscriptions with current access to the model version in the region.

I understand that you are able to create model in EAST US region. No specific settings needed to create the models. However in some regions capacity is limited, This is the case in Japan East at this time.

Please try with the available regions in the meantime.

    Hope this helps.
