Windosw server 2012 datacenter not start

After restart, the machine cannot run to the login GUI which runs the windows server 2012 datacenter. The windows logo shows, but after several seconds, the screen has no content.

Hi @gxg

Did you try to start the server in safe mode for troubleshooting?

To troubleshoot startup problems in safe mode, follow these steps:

Select Start > Shut Down.
Select Restart, and then select OK.
When you see the "Please select the operating system to start" message, press F8.
On the Windows Advanced Option Menu, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode (for troubleshooting )or Choose Last Known-Good Configuration.

After selecting Safe Mode and some running, the system reports "your system encounter problems and needs to restart"

It seems that some system files are corrupted and need to be repaired from a backup or DVD.

I burned a DVD with ultraISO for windosw server 2012. selected BIOS Boot Manager and then the DVD to start, widows logo appeared and after some running, blue screen appeared for 1 second and system reboot.

When blue screen appeared , it should be hardware or driver issue.

Do you have a backup ? Are you able to restore the server ?

It's a pity that I don't have a backup. Hareware issue? Just now I tested the DVD disck on my laptop and the installation arrived at the win server 2012 language selection step. Does this mean the DVD device hardware on the Dell Server is the cause? Thanks for your advices.

You should contact the support of hardware vendor in order to help you to identify failed component.

Thanks, later I used USB media to boot and it booted to language selection step. After I selected repair, there are only "enter command line" and “shutdown" options in the next step screen. In the command line windows, I tried to use SCF in offline mode to repair the currupted windows files. But it responded the target windows is inactive and can not access it.

additionally, we had used USB media to boot to PE system and replaced several system files. This didnot solve the problem but make it worse, because when I tried to repair the system it responded that the system files have been modified externally.

Hello, This issue could be due to several reasons such as faulty drivers, system file corruption, or even a recent Windows update. Choose Safe Mode to see if the system can boot up successfully. Use System Restore: If you can boot into Safe Mode, try to perform a System Restore. Repair with Installation Media: If you have the Windows Server 2012 installation media, you can use it to repair the system. Insert the media and boot from it, then choose the repair option. Use Command Prompt for SFC and DISM: If you can access Advanced Options, choose Command Prompt and type “sfc /scannow” to check for system file corruption. Thanks. We have first tried to enter the safe mode but no success. So we used usb media and PE system to boot and replaced several system files. After that we rebooted, though the booting time is longer than before, finally it's black screen and rebooted from the beginning.
