How do you migrate from GoDaddy Office 365 to Microsoft 365 direct under an existing tenant?

I have 3 domains on GoDaddy using Microsoft Office 365 purchased through GoDaddy.

I have 1 company standalone on Microsoft 365 purchased directly from Microsoft

GoDaddy setup i.e. Company1.com, Company2.com, Company3.com

Company1.com was originally the primary parent company and was an alias for all employees related to Company2.com and Company3.com so all employees would received email destined for company1.com in their primary address mailboxes of company2.com or company3.com and all messages outgoing would come from either of the 3 company addresses dependent on the employee's company of association.

This year it was decided to rebrand and consolidate all to 1 company. Unfortunately, this was something very quickly and without regards to consolidating all the existing company emails. NewCo Microsoft Office was purchased directly from Microsoft, which was the best option other than paying duplicate licensing and having multiple mailboxes between GoDaddy and Microsoft being forwarded.

Microsoft NewCo addition

i.e. newco.com

Now all users have been created @newco.com. These are all duplicated usernames from GoDaddy except newco vs 3 old co domains.

I have found several documents on migrating office off of GoDaddy and creating a new tenant on Microsoft Office stand alone and then migrating all email, but have not found anything related to moving multiple domains from GoDaddy to an existing Microsoft 365 tenant and use all old domains as aliases.

Any help would be greatly appreciated not only to save money and duplicated licensing but to have a single place for all domains. Thank you

    Hi MM-3430

Firstly, if you want to move from GoDaddy to Microsoft 365. This requires updating DNS settings with records provided by Microsoft 365. Next, head over to the Microsoft 365 admin center to add and verify each domain you plan to migrate. Set your desired domain (e.g., newco.com) as the default domain. For your GoDaddy DNS settings, remove any existing Microsoft 365-related records and add the new DNS records provided by Microsoft 365.

Once your domains are set up, migrate your mailboxes using Microsoft 365 migration tools. Ensure that you update MX records for each domain to point to Microsoft 365 after the migration is complete. then user identity update. Adjust user email addresses, setting the newco.com domain as the primary email address. Don't forget to add aliases for the old domains (e.g., Company1.com, Company2.com) to each user account in Microsoft 365.

And finallyp, update external services, applications, and devices to use the newco.com domain for email communication. I will ping the documentation links for more details find them below, for more info you can always reach out via 365 support via your 365 admin center, as this takes time I recommend raising a support req for faster switching. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/search/?terms=Add%20DNS%20records%20to%20connect%20your%20domain%20godaddy

If this helps kindly accept the answer thanks much.
