Hey everyone i am just curious do you still use a group for a pilot test or just set up a new OU and move the users in there that will be testing.
I Have a client who has been in office 365 for almost a year not but never wanted adconnect now they have grown to a huge size we are going to implement adconnect. To start off there will be only the IT department users that will be testing.
The have an empty OU Called office 365 which they will want to move all the users in there eventually. So my thought instead of using a pilot group i will just attach ad connect to the OU. This way it will keep all the other users as "Cloud" and when they move a user to this ou the user will switch from cloud to synced
Is this the correct step or am i missing something. Most of the time we do ADconnect before the migration.

thanks

You can use pilot group filtering, but group filtering should not be used in production environments, as advised in the documentation. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/hybrid/how-to-connect-install-custom#sync-filtering-based-on-groups

    Hope this helps!
